State Rep. Randy Weber Endorses Ed Thompson: Seat Being Vacated by Weber Congressional Bid
January 23, 2012Today State Representative Randy Weber formally announced his endorsement of Ed Thompson in the Republican primary race for House District 29. Weber is a champion for conservative values, representing the people of House District 29 since first being elected in 2008. Rep. Weber is running for U.S. Congress, leaving the seat open.
“I could think of no one better suited to represent Conservative District 29. Brenda & I have known Ed & Freddie for years, and they are a fine Conservative couple. Ed brings a wealth of talent to the table and I know he will be an effective legislator for the fine folks of District 29. That’s why I asked him to run,” Representative Randy Weber said.
“I am humbled to have earned the vote and support of Rep. Randy Weber. His support is a strong endorsement of my campaign for low taxes, a stronger economy and conservative values,” Thompson said. “Randy Weber is well-known and well-respected in our part of Texas making his support tremendous for my campaign.”
Thompson is a successful small businessman and dedicated public servant. He has been a small businessman in Pearland for nearly 30 years, recently served as Mayor Pro-Tem of Pearland, is past President of the Pearland Economic Development Corporation, past Chairman of the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, and former member of the Pearland ISD School Board.
Thompson is now in his 39th year of officiating football games in Texas. He and his wife Freddie have two children and four grandchildren.
